In September, local Paralympic double gold medallist Hannah Russell visited St Charles. Hannah who is visually impaired was accompanied by her father, Carson and spoke to the children about ‘Following your dreams’ and ‘never giving up’. She was incredibly generous with her time, talking to the children at great length as well as paying a visit to Reception and Nursery classes. Hannah trains 26 hours a week and has developed strategies to deal with her disability. Her gold medals were a sight to behold and as a former pupil of one of our fellow deanery Catholic primary schools, was an inspiration to us all, thank you Hannah!
